The development of a biochemical assay is usually very time- and labor-intensive, since a large variety of different co-factors interact with each other, which determine the investigated system. In collaboration with one of the top pharmaceutical companies, Sanofi, we are developing a novel in situ process that will significantly accelerate the development and optimization of chemical synthesis pathways. The use of bioinspired droplet arrays enables extreme miniaturization and parallelization of the system and thereby minimizes the required development time, use of materials and costs. In addition, the project´s goal is also to enable a straight-forward evaluation of the bioactive compounds in subsequent biochemical assays and cell biological screenings within a single system.
We are looking for a self-motivated Master student in the field of organic chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology with a strong background in organic chemistry or related.
Limited to 4-6 month, depending on faculty regulations
