Tanja Claus

MESSAGE
I was born and grew up in a small village near Heilbronn, profiting from all benefits that come along with a childhood in the countryside. For my studies in pure chemistry, I moved to Karlsruhe in late 2008 and joined the Macroarc research group in early 2011 for an advanced lab course. Working on the combination of living cationic polymerization with RAFT polymerization I discovered my passion for polymer science and therefore returned to the Macroarc research group in 2013 for my diploma thesis. During that time I was working on heterogeneous functionalisation of cellulose surfaces employing photochemical ligation. In mid 2013, I received my degree with high honor and am now pursuing my PhD studies within the same group, co-supervised by Guillaume and in collaboration with the Bastmeyer group. Besides Chemistry, I love watching movies, reading books, go swimming, and especially enjoy scuba diving.
